Details

Team College Showcase Tournament will be held September 9-10, 2023. This is a 4 game guarantee tournament in which college coaches will have the opportunity to see you perform in game situations. USA Elite Training, LLC, will provide all college coaches in attendance with team rosters and game schedule in a college coach showcase tournament binder.

The tournament fee is $795  includes softballs ( Pay umpires at the plate)

The Showcase tournament Insurance Requirement: all teams must show valid insurance. Teams who are not already USA Softball registered must pay a USA Registration fee of $35. If your team is already USA Softball Registered then NO fee is required please provided us your USA Softball registration form. If you need to pay the $35 fee the for the USA Softball Registration form will be available at check in desk at day of tournament and can completed and handed into check in desk. Format & Rules

Showcase Format

Round Robin Exhibition Games.   Each team will have 4 Showcase games.  Games are 1 hour and 25 minutes drop dead, Mercy Rule is met, or 7 innings are completed; which ever occurs first. If time expires before the inning is completed, the batter is finished and then game is over immediately (Drop Dead) and the score will revert to the last complete inning, unless the home team is up to bat and are ahead in the score or have tied the score.

  • Pitching Mounds will be at 43’
  • Pay at the plate each umpire TBA
  •   Game balls are provided
  •   Mercy Rules:  15 runs after 3 innings, 12 runs after 4 innings, 8 runs after 5 innings

TOURNAMENT RULES 2023

1.  USA Softball Rules will be followed with some showcase exceptions which are

1) Free substitutions   2) Unlimited batters

2.  Time Limit – 1 hour and 25 minutes drop dead.  If time expires before the inning is completed, the batter is finished and then game is over immediately (Drop Dead) and the score will revert to the last complete inning, unless the home team is up to bat and are ahead in the score or have tied the score.

3. Order of Finish:1) Win/Loss records, 2) Runs-Allowed and 3) Head to Head 4) Coin Toss- will be used to determine first place finishers in each bracket. All scores must be reported by winning team to the USA Elite Training LLC Table. If scores are not reported, bracket winners will be determined by whatever means available to the tournament director.

4.  Teams Must Be game ready and at the fields at least 15 minutes before scheduled start time.    To keep on schedule umpires will be starting games early if possible.

5.   Wristbands:  Coaches will receive 1 wristband per player in their coach packets to be used throughout the entire tournament.   The wristbands will indicate the player’s graduation year to college coaches.   Graduation year will be taken directly off of the rosters that are entered by the coaches online, so please be sure that all your player’s graduation years are entered correctly.

Wristband Color Codes

Black = signed player

Green= Senior / grad year 2024

Blue = Junior /grad year 2025

 Orange =Sophomore / grad year 2026

 Purple = Freshman & 8th / grad year 2027/2028

6.   College Coach Areas:  There are areas designated for College Coaches Only parking and sitting area at each field.  Please be sure your players, coaches, and fans do not occupy or park in any areas that are designated College Coaches Area Only.

7.  Forfeits are to be avoided at all cost.   If you are having an issue, you must contact the tournament director or check with the team check in tent.   If necessary, you may borrow a player from another team in order to allow the game to be played.  The college coaches have come to see teams play.  If your team does forfeit a game, your team will not be allowed into another USA Elite Showcase event.  It is each team’s responsibility to ensure enough players so that the games will be played.  USA Elite Training is not responsible for finding replacement players.

8.  USA Elite Showcase is not responsible to provide the supplies for individual teams during the tournament.   All teams must bring their own water/Gatorade/ice /first aid supplies.  There will be concession stands at each field location.

9.   DUGOUTS:  Teams are responsible to clean out dugouts after each game. There will be trash bins at each field.  It is important to respect the fields and the property of the Towns of Southington and Meriden and their respective Softball organizations.

10.  There is absolutely NO HITTING ANY TYPE OF BALLS (including light flights or wiffle balls) into the fences at any of the showcase complexes.   Please use pop-up hitting nets for hitting off batting tees.

11.   College Coaches will be invited by USA Elite Showcases.  We cannot guarantee the attendance of any coaches.  We will list all coaches that RSVP as they are received on our website.   To ensure that more college coaches attend, we recommend that players also contact the college that they are interested in to let them know that they will be at this showcase event.  College coaches have more incentive to attend a showcase event if they know that there are players who are interested in their program.

12.  The tournament director will make every effort to bring the tournament to a successful completion, but reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or change the time limits of games to accomplish this goal.

Refund Policy

Teams that cancel after being accepted in the tournament will not receive any refund. Also, there will be no refund of entry fees due to uncontrollable circumstances or not complying with tournament rules. Because of the unrecoverable expenses of a summer tournament, if the tournament gets completely rained out, 1/2 of the entry fees shall be refunded. If any part of the game is played, there will be NO refund. In the event of rain, the tournament director reserves the right to reschedule the games in any fashion, including shortening of games and or elimination games.
